COBRA ADMINISTRATION
A federal law, commonly known as COBRA (Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act), requires that most employers sponsoring group health plans offer employees and their families the opportunity for a temporary extension of health coverage (called continuation of coverage) at group rates in certain instances where plan coverage would otherwise end. This law mandates strict procedures and specific timetables.
DM Payroll Services has developed a system that tracks the notification and timing requirements imposed by COBRA’s regulations. Features of the system include policy terms, premium amounts, notification, election, and acceptance due dates, payment schedules - just to name a few. The system also provides customized employee notices and letters that are required under the law.
